This is a premium grade Ti Kuan Yin (a.k.a Iron Goddess of Mercy) tea. It has been written that Ti Kuan Yin is at first bitter, then sweet, and finishes with a fragrance which lingers on your palate. We find this particular grade is sweet with a fragrant finish and has few or no bitter notes.  This tea will delight you with a distinctive light cup that has hints of orchid-like flavor.

Country of Origin: China Region: Fujian Province Grade: Ti Kuan Yin Altitude: 2500 ft. above sea level Manufacture Type: Oolong Ingredients: Luxury oolong tea The name Iron Goddess of Mercy came from a farmer named Mr. Wei. At the temple dedicated to Kuan Yin (a.k.a Iron Goddess of Mercy) he was asked what the name of his special tea was. It must be called Ti Kuan Yin in honor of the iron statue to Kuan Yin, he replied. As the name was a good one, it has never been changed.

    Nice light oolong tea

I really like the oolong teas, this one is nice to enjoy alone for it's true flavor or sometimes I like to increase the flavor by adding a pinch of another tea (some that I enjoy to add are "Friendship Green" and "Seventh Heaven" (green & white teas). It's nice to create new flavors and also receive the different health benefits each tea offers all combined into one cup!
